echinacea

I love echinacea flowers. It's just the way they hold their heads up I think.

home time

Coming home at last!

dream house

It's a family joke, we always used to notice them, the potential 'dream houses' spied when cruising isolated highways. One day I'll stop and take a photo of every one of them.

Tupare

Tupare is a gorgeous old home in New Plymouth. The garden is very English and quite spectacular, developed as all of New Plymouth seems to be, on ridges and in gullies. Abeautiful place for a stroll.

Sunshine

Today was a genuine summers day - a novelty this climate changed summer! So I got industrious - there's something very satisfying about freshly washed quilts flapping in the breeze.

2012

My New Year's resolution is less specific than the usual but hopefully more effectual - to be more precise in everything I do - teaching, reading, photography, decision making, communicating,  even shopping!
Photos? - nothing to do with it but amazing what you can shoot from your back door step in little old hammyhole! Happy New Year!

Dealing to the stash

I used to collect fabric. Now I tend to buy what I want for a quilt and have a minimal amount left over. But once there was not that great a selection of fabric around so I tended to stash it. Now I have to store all this fabric! I'm not quite ready to get rid of it but 'using it up' would be a good option.

A holiday project was to deal to the stash so it was tidy and accessible. Some money and a bit of stress later - reorganised if not quite sorted.  I made up a kit-set large cubby-hole shelf (IQ test) and bought a considerable number of hobby boxes.
