a eureka moment

Practice makes perfect.
This is what the daughtery thing wants... peggy squares.... with 3 colours!...for a baby blanket.
Hundreds of curly ends to darn in.

visiting

Visited Paul and Paula's house in the Waitetuna valley.

pretty colours

I have this bag full of wool I bought, pretty colours.
But that was the easy bit.
Mum said she tried to teach me to crochet back in the sixties but I wasn't interested.
Do I want to admit to being of an age to learn to crochet in the sixties??
A skill that I nearly didn't learn but today I completed my first peggy square.
It's easy when you know how! haha
Pussy loves cuddling up to the wool.

Squares

Nice big 10" squares are easy to cut out.
Gave up on the crochet and cut out the squares for the raggy quilt.
Lately I seem to be very good at buying the stuff, but now I  have to do the making.
The baby is half way made and blanketless!

I can't knit!

But apparently I can crochet?
There has been a request for a crochet peggy square blanket. Like the 752 on Etsy.
Mum loaned me the how to book and the hook.
I bought wool - very expensive stuff.
I watched the lady on YouTube...replay...replay... (she makes it look easy)
Then I went back to mum's for a lesson.
I have spent all afternoon practising!
Crochet is not easy.
