day 5

Sign of the times....the son taking a friend for a yoga class via Skype or some such video connection.

day 4

Time to get the crochet out again. Thank goodness for YouTube that reminds me each year how to crochet - not a skill leaned when I was young. Maybe I could make one or two peggy squares a day? Maybe.

day 3

People in my neighbourhood are obeying 'the rules'. I heard the mailman on his little scooter and someone open their letterbox. That was about it today. The odd car goes down the road but being on a back section I hardly hear them. The very occasional siren - these used to be constant. Is this practice for living at the beach in a small quiet community? Not complaining.
So I made fruit bread - practising for Easter. Just as nice and much less fluffing about than hot cross buns. Delicious! The addition of gluten flour and bread improver appears to have resolved the 'doughy' issue from the last loaf.

day 2

It's autumn, my favourite time of year. All the fruit trees are laden with goodies.

Unfortunately, there are only two of us to consume it all.

Friday 27 March 2020

day 1

The neighborhood is strangely quiet, no city traffic sounds in the background.
So grateful for my trusty coffee machine.
Apparently, there were people approached after midnight who had no idea what was going on?
Bizarre.

lockdown

I have never been so grateful that I live in New Zealand.
And I am equally grateful that we have Jacinda Ardern as our Prime Minister.
When I look at what is happening in Italy, Britain and Europe, not to mention the disaster in America - that is so going to be a time bomb!
We have an inspiring leader who cares about people as much as the economy and believes in science!

So, a month in lockdown - wow!! I have plenty of projects! Thought I'd add a photo and a comment each day, something to keep me occupied. And I'm not alone which is unusual, I have my son with me.

Here we go...
