day 7

Wow, one week in already, it went fast. Covid19 numbers are growing steadily. There has been one death. The science says to expect to wait 14 days before seeing a decline and then there is the unknown of community transmission. And yes, here in NZ, we believe in science. The government is doing a mindful job of providing support for those who need it the most. They are making adjustments every day to meet needs, resolve issues, stop any gaps. Of course, there are those who criticise, fuss and squabble. I find it tiresome. Realistically the government doesn't get everything right the first time but they are listening, they are responsive - and really, would you want to be in their shoes? We are in such a better place than almost anywhere else in the world. Keep the borders shut until the world heals.
Again, I am so grateful to live in a socialist democracy at the very bottom of the world.
Images today of beautiful places I have been this summer and hopefully, will get back to soon.
Stay strong everyone. Kia kaha.
