resisting winter

The garden continues to resist winter. Autumn is the time you really appreciate every sunny day, every flower in your garden.

kaffe

How cool is this new website to view Kaffe' fabrics. You click on the colour you're looking for and it gives you a selection of Kaffe's fabrics!

max

Max arrived in Aotearoa accompanied by two very exhausted parents after a grueling 24 hour flight from Amsterdam with a tummy bug in tow, which he then proceeded to give to all and sundry. Oh well, he is so cute he got away with it but it certainly slowed us down for the first two weeks. He is getting around now with trips to Auckland, Ngatea, Tauranga, Napier and Wellington to meet lots of rellies and friends. Having my so far one and only Grandchild now living in NZ, not to mention Sonya and Toby back in the country after 8 years, certainly adds a new dimension. Loving it!

Max meets Great Grandma and Grand Opa.

Max visits The Mount and has his first paddle in the sea.

Max in Grand Oma's chair with scary bunny behind! Where did that come from?

Bathtime in Tauranga.

home soon

Max was 6 months old yesterday and Sonya, Toby and Max leave Amsterdam for NZ tomorrow morning. I feel kinda sad on one hand for them 'cause I know what a cool city Amsterdam is and how much they have enjoyed living there amongst friends and family, and happy on the other hand for me because now I will get to see them more!

broken

My Gran bought me this doll when I was about 5. She took me into Farmers and I believe she had something else in mind but I fell in love with this doll. So being the really fantastic Gran that she was, she bought what I wanted. I remember that distinctly. I aspire to be the same sort of high quality grandparent! For now, I need to fix her somehow.

iPhone Photography

Aim well, shoot fast, and app that bitch until it sings.” —Knox Bronson.
There's a whole genre of iPhone photography out there to explore.

necklace

Sometimes you set out to make something and it just works. I love those day.
Made a necklace for my nieces wedding with beads and ribbon purchased in Coromandel Town.
